

Joan was born in Bloomington, Indiana on December 1, 1931, to the late Albert (Rip) Rader and Daisy Hayes Rader. She was married to the late Wm. Ray Fuller for 62 years, from September 26, 1948, until his passing in 2010. Starting as a pre-teen, she was hired to sing and play the piano and organ at funeral homes. During those same years she regularly used her musical gifts at her home church, the Bloomington Church of God. She and her then-boyfriend and later-spouse, Ray, sang at a radio station together. At 15 years of age, Joan worked at Schmalz’s Department Store selling women’s clothing. Once married, she worked for Sarkes Tarzian as a switchboard operator and sold toys and jewelry thru the home-party plan. After moving to Mooresville, Indiana she carpooled to Bloomington to work at RCA as a supervisor. Later on, she worked as a bus driver for the Mooresville Public School System, driving children with disabilities for approximately two decades. She successfully ran “Joan’s Unique Catering” out of Mooresville for several years as well.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Ray Fuller, son Dennis Fuller and grandson Adam Fuller.
Joan is survived by her daughter Susan Smith (Steve), son Eric Fuller, Grandchildren: Dana Stoltz (Matt), Erin Shelton, Joy Smith, Rachel Van Camp (Don), Rebecca Ruschau, Danielle Fuller, Meagan Fuller.
She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren.
A visitation for Joan will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. (Noon).
