69, of Indianapolis, departed this life December 25, 2010. He was born August 12, 1941 in Indianapolis to Francis J. and Cornelia (Burrell) Schmitt. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and University of Notre Dame. He served in the United States Army. Jackson was the owner of Herman E. Schmitt Insurance Agency. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus St. Pius X Council, University of Notre Dame Alumni, and Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana. Jackson is survived by his sister Alice Anne Houff, cousins Henry and Fritz Kreutzinger, Mike Schmitt and two nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, December 30 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
