She was born in Fall River, MA on February 9, 1930.
She was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, where she devoted herself to numerous community charities and was known for her love of reading.
Josephine graduated from Shortridge High School and Hanover College. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church.
She loved spending time with her 12 grandchildren and had 19 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by Charles J. Randa and Charles E. Shanafelt
Josephine is survived by her sister Cynthia Robinson (Bob), brother Arthur Pittenger (Judy) and four children Jeff Randa (Nancy), Ginny Roberts (Don), Lisa Kaminski (Mark), and Cindy Armitage (Jeff).
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 12-2pm, with the funeral service beginning at 2pm. A private family burial will follow the service.
