Kathleen “Kathy” Doyle, 67, was born into eternal life on the morning of September 16, 2020, having passed peacefully in hospice care at home with many visits from family members and endearing words from friends. Kathy became the most educated member of her family, earning her Bachelor’s degree from Marian College, Indianapolis, Master’s of Science in Education from Indiana University and a Certification in Special Ed from the University of Dayton. She spent most of her adult life in Dayton, OH where she retired as a Special Ed Teacher from Middletown City Schools. Kathy’s creativity emerged in most—if not all—of life’s endeavors: from her engaging lesson plans for her students, to birthday cards she made friends and family, and goofy games for the family to play at holiday parties. Her love for her family (especially her nieces and nephews) could not be questioned. She was an animal lover and dearly cherished her cat, St. Nick and her dogs Bernadette, Gloria and Celeste. Other interests included hunting for antiques, renovating old houses, painting, photography and walks in the woods.
Undoubtedly, when she meets her master to reckon accounts, he will say to her: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Gertrude Doyle. She is survived by her four sisters, Rosemary Killilea, Loretta (Jerry) Tennery, Martha (Leo) Kinast, and Dotti (Jim) Baxter, and a legion of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am Friday, October 2, 2020 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Zionsville, Indiana with calling at the church prior to mass beginning at 9:30 am. Masks are required. Memorials will include Catholic Masses or Alzheimer’s Association of Central Indiana, 50 E. 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240
“When all is said and done,
Believers know when life has ceased
It’s really just begun.”
