Kenneth (Ken) Edward Lauter was with family and friends when he passed on to join his Lord in the heavenly realm on May 25, 2022. Ken was born on June 15, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ken will be remembered as an accomplished son, a proud father, and a good friend. He attended North Central H.S. where he participated in intramural sports on the feared Pygmies basketball team. He graduated in 1975 and matriculated to Indiana University-Bloomington, where he graduated with a BS in 1979 and a law degree in 1982. For the first nine years of his legal career, Ken practiced Labor & Employment law on the management side. He then switched and practiced on the employee side for the remainder of his 37 year long career. While on the employee side he became a named, senior partner at Haskin, Lauter & LaRue. Ken enjoyed helping individuals and families (as opposed to managers) from the feeling of personal connection with his clients. After retiring from law, he became a school bus driver for much the same reason. Ken will miss the kids on bus #15 at the Hamilton Heights School Corporation. His son, Christian, is very grateful for the memories he was able to enjoy with his father. In 2020, Ken met the love of his life-Anne Meyer whose sons Carl and Max also became part of his life. Ken is survived by his parents, John and Phyllis Lauter of Indianapolis, son Christian Lee Lauter (Allyson) of Colorado Springs, CO, brothers Keith Lauter (Linda) of Indianapolis, Ronald Lauter (Sandy) of San Diego and Douglas Lauter of Fishers, nieces Kelsey Ligon (Arec), Sandy Dibble (Chris), Shelby Lauter, Brittani Lauter and Saige Lauter. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the chapel at Meridian Street Methodist Church on May 31st from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of life service will immediately follow Ken's gathering beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by a private graveside service at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lauter Foundation at the Indianapolis Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis, 615 N. Alabama, Suite 400, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.crownhill.org for the Lauter family.
