King started and sustained a very successful plumbing business called Duke Outside Plumbing. King was a fair and knowledgeable plumber. He was able to build clientele and relationships with local companies that lasted for over sixty plus years. His plumbing knowledge was invaluable, and his work was impeccable. He was able to pass his knowledge and skills to both of his sons, his employees and to anyone who wanted to learn.
King started each day at the White Castle with a cup of coffee and daily fellowship with his friends. He enjoyed meeting up with them several times a day, which eventually moved over to the front porch of his “office”.
King was united in marriage to Stacy E. Duke on January 14, 1993, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
King was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and more to his family. Family was very important and close to his heart. He was simple, kind and a role model for so many people. He was able to share his honesty, knowledge, wisdom, and life lessons through stories about his life over the years.
King departed from this life on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Pearl Duke, his parents, Noble and Ada Duke, his sisters, Mary Tomlin, Emma Lou Cheris, Rose Ella Williams, Ada Mae Alexander, Betty F.
