I am so very sorry for the pain and grief each of you are feeling from your loss of Laura. I hope you find strength, peace, and comfort in the coming days.

Laura was smart with a vast knowledge of endless topics. I admired her ability to debate issues on their merit and not on emotion no matter the subject.

Laura was extremely hardworking. I am forever grateful that she took me under her wing to teach me the Journal Clerk position in the House of Representatives, as well as the other positions on the front desk. Laura taught and led by example. She was patient, kind, and meticulous. We worked hard and laughed hard when laughter was appropriate.

We also shared about our families and life experiences. Laura shared many wonderful things about her family, and I feel as though I know each of you without ever having met you.

I always enjoyed hearing about her latest world traveling experiences. I miss the morning Rice Krispie treat and banana snacks, the occasional cheeseburger lunches at Charley and Barney’s, and the beautiful sound of her laughter.

We worked seamlessly together while respectfully holding opposing political ideologies. Laura lifted those around her with her presence. She was a wonderful woman who was respected and admired and the very best loyal friend anyone could ever have in their life. I am forever blessed to have had Laura in my life. I know I am a better person because of her.

I will cherish the many memories we shared together. I love her. I will forever miss her.

To Laura's family:
Many of us in the Indiana General Assembly knew Laura and we were sad to hear of her passing.
Laura was always the "go to" person, she was friendly, helpful and full of institution knowledge. She was truly missed when she retired.
And, we always enjoyed her travel stories!
Wishing you all comfort, Cathy Robinson

My sincere condolences to Laura's family. I have worked with Laura in the journal office for the last 10 years. She has taught me everything I know! I am so sad and my heart breaks. If any of the family could let me know if there are any services or a celebration of life, I would greatly appreciate it.
