Lawrence L Franklin

Lawrence Lamonte Franklin, peacefully departed this life on Friday, December 21, 2018, in Decatur, Georgia. Lawrence was born on May 19, 1964, the youngest child of the late JohnEdward Franklin and Lillian Bell (Price) Franklin. A sister, Donna Franklin also preceded him in death.Lawrence accepted Christ as his savior as a young man in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a faithful member at various churches that he fellowshipped throughout his life, including NewBirth Missionary Baptist Church, Atlanta Georgia. He was a giving person and helped others along the way. Lawrence always had a love for trucks. He learned to drive trucks at a very young age and as an adult, he earned a reputation for being a dependable hardworking truck driver. His life ended with him doing just that.Lawrence is survived by his children Lauren Franklin Amos (Preston), Donta’ Dixon, and Courtney Ward. Additionally, Lawrence is survived by two sisters, Emma Jean Griffin (Percy),and Mary Upshaw of Atlanta Georgia, and one brother, James Franklin (Linda) of Millington, Tennessee. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend Teresa Bacon ofAtlanta Georgia.
