Nécrologie de Lisa A. Gill
Lisa Ann Bingham was born on April 15, 1965 to the late Linsey and Lillie M. Bingham. She was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, attending school in the Indianapolis Public School system. During her school age years, she was a cheerleader and a member of the basketball team. She graduated high school in 1983 and was a very proud Tech Titan. After graduation, Lisa worked for Nyhart for nearly 15 years. She later joined the IMG family as a medical concierge. While working for both companies, she gained many friends. She loved people and spending time with them was one of her favorite things to do. She could be found on a lunch date or taking walks around the company complex whenever she could. Because of her mother’s dedication to the Lord, Lisa grew up in the church and came to know Christ at a young age. She began growing her faith as a little girl at All Friends Missionary Baptist Church. Lisa later married Vernon Gill and created a family, having three beautiful children- Darius, Candace, and Nathan. Together they raised their family at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church before later joining and serving at Berean Bible Church. Lisa had the gift of singing and used it to worship the Lord whenever she could. She was a member of various gospel singing groups, such as the Nettie Lester Interfaith Choir and with Billy Lester and Prosperity. She also was a faithful soprano in the Berean Bible Church choir. Lisa’s children gave her the greatest gifts–her “grandgirls”. She had 5 granddaughters and they were the light of her life. GiGi, as they affectionately called her, always took them to events and attended their soccer games and school functions. Wherever they were, GiGi wanted to be, also. Lisa loved being around family more than anything. She would find games online and make time to play them with her loved ones. When she wasn’t with her grandgirls, Lisa was enjoying the outdoors. She couldn’t resist a hike, walk, or bike ride outside. Her closest friends, known to her as the “Girl Crew”, took her on several trips. They visited many different places like water parks, campsites, and aquariums. She also loved hanging out with the three family dogs, also known as her “granddogs”. There were a few things that were unique to Lisa and to know her was to know that her hygiene was most important. She had to have a toothbrush and floss accessible at all times and often showered multiple times a day. Lisa’s smile was bright and contagious. She was always smiling and if you ever caught her without one, she must have been asleep. Even though she was always smiling, she was absolutely a worry-wart and very dramatic. She loved to get worked up and you could hear her calling on the Lord for the simplest things. That was just Lisa. When Lisa was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer in 2013, she did not let that slow her down. She fought a long and hard battle. While going through chemo and radiation, she was determined not to give up. She eventually began holistic treatment, which gave her much hope and perspective. She changed her diet and even gave up Pepsi (for a short time). As her health began to decline, those around her could physically see the difference but it was not reflected in her attitude. Lisa continued driving to church, hanging with the Girl Crew, and showing up to events when she could. These are just a few examples of her strength. God healed Lisa of ovarian cancer by calling her home to be with Him on Friday, May 13, 2022. She was surrounded by family and close friends as she entered the presence of the Lord. Though she fought hard, she is now at peace. Lisa leaves to cherish her memory, her three children–Darius Allen (Raven), Candace LaNae, and Nathan Aaron Gill; her five grandgirls–Rilee, Alaina, Lillian, Leilani, and True; and many other relatives and close friends. A gathering of family and friends for Lisa is scheduled for Friday, May 20th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Berean Bible Church, 5602 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220. Her celebration of life will immediately follow her gathering at Berean at 11:00 AM. Lisa's place of rest will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208 Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.crownhill.org for the Gill family.
