Lois Ann Clark, 75, of Indianapolis IN passed away quite unexpectedly on June 30, 2025. She was born October 24, 1949 to Harold and Margaret Clark, who have preceded her in death along with her sister, Judith Green. She is survived by her brother, Steven (Diane), nieces Lisa DeaKyne (Brian), Kristen Swartzell (Charles), and Stephanie Rose (Brian). She also has 10 great nieces and nephews, chosen family, and many friends.
Lois attended IUPUI and received her undergraduate and graduate education degrees. She was an elementary school teacher in several IPS schools for over 30 years. While teaching in inner city schools, Lois was impacted by the numerous children that came to school hungry and without proper clothing. Lois and her school principal began a ministry to deliver items to children in need, often visiting their homes.
Lois retired and was the caregiver for her mother and sister for many years. She was an avid sports fan and supported her IU Hoosiers, Colts, and Pacers. Often, she and Steve, via phone, would celebrate and lament to each other as the games progressed. She loved to attend the activities of her great nieces and nephews, as well as being with her chosen family’s activities and celebrations.
Lois lived her Christian faith daily in how she treated others. She was unselfish, a true friend, and took the time to always remember the little and big things.
Lois embraced the health challenges she faced without complaints and was not afraid to leave this earthly home for her eternal one.
A visitation for Lois will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life memorial at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lois' memory may be made to Wheeler Mission , 205 E. New York Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 US.
