

Lola Grooms was born Indianapolis, IN to John and Susie Currin on September 11, 1925. She went to school at Crispus Attucks High School where she graduated in 1944. She married Odessa Grooms on February 24, 1950 in Indianapolis, IN. She worked as an assembly/ sauder worker for RCA for over 30 years until she retired. She was heavily involved in Church as an usher for many years, her family and friends. She loved watching her soaps (stories as she called them), traveling, being with her family making great memories, and singing. Going out shopping and eating was one of her favorite weekend pass-times.

Lola Grooms is survived by Sons, Maurice O Grooms and Lowell O. Grooms (Terrie); Daughters, L'Tanya J. Montgomery and Dionne M. Grooms; Brothers and Sisters, Jerome (Violet) Currin, Vernon Currin, Delores Moore, Carol Bebley; Grandchildren, Kameron Grooms, Kellitta Grooms, Victoria Montgomery, Jason Montgomery, Lowell Grooms II, Jacob (Dominique) Fulton, Jeremiah Grooms, Justin Vinciguerra, Deja Montgomery, Aaron Anderson, Sierra Grooms, Danielle Montgomery, Jasmine Grooms, Diamond Montgomery, Cieonte Miles, Susie Helms, Jeremy Helms; Great-grandchildren, Zaniya Brown, Zivah Brown, Kimora Drake, Ky’Leah Wright, Kadence Maye, Kaine Butler, Zaidyn Vinciguerra, Kapone Maye, Malaya Miles, Dorianne Miles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
A visitation for Lola will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00 PM.
