“Lonnie” attended several Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School.
“Lonnie” married the love of his life, Sarah Ann Reid, on July 3rd, 1981 where they shared 42 years of marriage.
“Lonnie” worked as a machine operator at General Motors/Rolls Royce where he retired March 1, 2013 after 48 years of service. He was also a Vietnam Veteran, served in Okinawa Japan, and dedicated 4 years serving his country in the United States Air Force.
“Lonnie” loved listening to Jazz music, watching western shows, and watching football and basketball. “Lonnie” valued being around family and taking care of those around him. He had a contagious laugh that filled any room and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
“Lonnie” departed this life on January 5th 2024 at the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 20 days.
“Lonnie” was preceded in death by his parents Bertha and Lonnie Reid, and sisters Ruby D. Whitfield and Elnoria Grier.
