

91, of Indianapolis, departed this life Wednesday, November 16, 2011. He was born July 25, 1920 in Indianapolis to Louis and Esther O’Reilly Schneider. Lou attended Holy Cross Catholic School and Cathedral High School. Following high school, he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Rocky Mountains for three years. Lou then enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country for six years during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre. He worked in sales for Allied Weld Craft. Lou was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothea Magdalene (Raftery) Schneider and sisters, Mary Royse, Elizabeth Bailey, Marjorie Sears and Charlotte Rowley. He is survived by his nine children, Louis Michael Indy (Tomoko Tetsuka) Schneider, Mark (Dawn Girardin) Schneider, Linda (Thomas) Farrell, Chris (Magdalena Beltran) Schneider, Debra (Curtis) Beck, Esther Diane (Michael) Stroh, Matthew Schneider, Susan (Mario) Lopez and Stephanie (Andy) Bowers; grandchildren, Sarah Schneider and Jay Sayles; Aubrey and Effie Motoyama, Naryana and Laxmi Schneider; Walker, Evan, and Maura Farrell; Alan, Jazmin, Vanessa and Lucero Schneider; Riley, Amelia and Logan Beck; Ella and Guthrie Stroh; Nathan and Mackenzie Schneider; Alex, Lucia, and Emilio Lopez; and Cain and Corbin Bowers; great-grandchildren, Seth and Navada Sayles. Visitation will be from 3 – 7 PM, Sunday, November 20th at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary (71st Street and Keystone). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 21st, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Dr., E., Indianapolis, celebrant Msgr. Joseph Schaedel.
