

Louis E. Zbylut, 89 of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away January 22, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born February 8, 1936, in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Louis Walter Zbylut and Anna Marie (Barker) Zbylut. Louis lived his life dedicated to his family, country and in service to those around him. As a retired Army veteran, Louis proudly served his country for over 20 years in the Army. He graduated from Loyola High School class of 1953 and served as a Machinist retiring from Interstate Brands Corporation as a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM).
Louis was a devoted father and husband known for his sweet tooth, quick-witted humor, love of reading, old cars, sports and his favorite team USC. Throughout his life Louis participated in many activities and social clubs including membership to the Knights of Columbus St. Joesph Council #5290 and becoming a Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu. Louis was a true patriot, man of faith and family man. Louis was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara aka Hannia (d.2021), son-in-law Martin Manuel Guzman, father Louis Walter Zbylut, mother Anna Marie (Barker) Zbylut, sister Alyce Anne (Zbylut) Thompson, brother Edward Fredrick Zbylut, great grandbaby Bracken, and great grandbaby DeLaCruz.
Louis is survived by his children, Louis Stephen (Rita) Zbylut, Elizabeth Anne Zbylut-Guzman, his five grandchildren, Christy Zbylut, Emily (John) Munoz, Sherri (Jared) Willey, Jessica (Jacob) Bracken, and Matthew Guzman; and his four great-grandchildren Evan Willey, Wyatt Bracken, Luke Willey and LillyAnne Bracken.
A visitation will be held on February 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home Gothic Chapel, located at 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN, 46208.
The funeral service will follow at the same location on February 7, 2026, starting at 12:00 pm.
