

Mary C. Collins, 89, died May 29, 2011. Mary was born in Lidgerwood, North Dakota, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Lynch) Lommel. Mary was devoted to her husband and family, her church, and the unborn, and was known for her love of people and sense of humor. In 1944, she wed Joseph C. Collins, the beginning of a happy marriage of nearly 50 years. She was a member of St. Pius X Parish for over 50 years. In 1974, along with Margaret Mooney, Mary founded the St. Gerard Guild to work on behalf of the unborn, and in 1991, Indianapolis Right to Life recognized her efforts with the Charles Stimming Award. Mary is survived by her children: Connie (Bob) Tatalovich, Milwaukee; and John (Michele), Bob (Mary Rose), Patty, and Mary Beth Collins, all of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and sister. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Friday, June 3, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Church or Indianapolis Right to Life.
