Mary A. Garrett

Mary was baptized and confessed the Lord at an early age.

Our mom had a passion for cooking and gardening, successfully growing her own vegetable garden, and especially her collard greens. We loved moms homemade Chow Chow and soul food. She loved tending to her flowers and plants. Mary enjoyed bargain shopping from garage sales and Macy’s.

Mom was a very loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and auntie and friend, who will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Mary Garrett was called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 93.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Frank Garrett, and a daughter Patricia Ann Garrett. Her grandson Bradford C. Wallace and her granddaughter Tiffany Garrett-Barron.

Mom is survived by her children, Stella Louise Garrett, Marsha Ann (Anthony D) Stone, Larry (Deloris) Garrett, Debra J Holland, Frank Garrett Jr, Barry Garrett, and Jackie (Ali) Ragin. Her sisters; Martha Jean Groves, Georgia Seymour, brother Waymon Howard, special friends Nina Gant and Steve Ford.

Mom cherished her family, including children, 22 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM.
