Mary Therese McCarty

Mary Therese McCarty, 89, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021. Mary grew up in the Little Flower Parish and was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy. Mary was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish. She was born September 21st 1931 to the late Francis and Aletha ( McCain ) Lenahan. She was married to David L. McCarty June 1959 who preceded her in death on June 8, 2011. She is survived by her children Michael, Dennis, David, Kathryn, Thomas, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and sister Eileen White. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin, brothers James, Thomas, Francis “Joe”, Paul “David” and Bernard Lenahan. A showing for family and friends will be at the Feeney- Hornak Mortuary, 1307 North Shadeland Ave. on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 East 10th Street, on January 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Christian Burial at Calvary Cemetery. A livestreaming of the service will be available on Holy Spirit's website. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to the ALS Association or to Riley’s Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice socially distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
