Matthew Emmanuel Shackelford

Matthew was born on March 10, 1988 in Los Angeles, California to Gregory Karl Shackelford, Sr. and Julie Denise Owens. He left this life on November 22, 2021. Matthew attended Highland High School in Palmdale, California and Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was an outstanding student, excelling at essay and creative writing. During his life, Matthew worked as a Rap Artist; Forklift Driver, Cable Installer and Salesperson of men’s fine fashions. His passion was creating, developing and performing his own secular and Christian music and videos. His works are widely applauded on Facebook and other social media outlets.

Matthew received the gift of eternal life by accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on May 24, 2020. He was baptized with water at New Genesis Church on July 25, 2021 in Denver, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Locksley Owens, Jr., and his Dog Golden, Rest in Peace!

While Matthew’s body rests until the Second Coming of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, His Spirit is present with the Lord. He is remembered by his children, Kamiaya Keyera, Emmalaci Rob, and Ma’leiyah Jaz Marae Shackelford; his siblings, Joseph Ramone, Gregory Karl, Jr. and Karen Tyler Cheri Shackelford; his parents, Gregory Karl Shackelford, Sr., Julie Denise Owens and John Lee Horton; his grandmother, Beverly Wade and a Host of Family and Friends.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on January 15, 2021 at Crown Hill Funeral Home and Officiated by Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson, II of Eastern Star Church.

The Inurnment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Abbey Gardens and the Repast will be held at 3:00 pm at Fogo de Chao Restaurant in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.

Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home.
