
85, Denmark, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2010, following a short illness. He was born on October 12, 1925 to the late Edward and Helen (Stahl) Schmidt, in Tisch Mills, WI.
Merle served in the Army in World War II. He was a truck driver most of his life and owned his own business. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Sunset Club. Merle moved back to the Denmark, WI area in 2008, where he spent time with family and friends.
Merle is survived by his daughter, Peggy, Arizona; sons, Tim and Jeff (Kathleen Hermann), Hartford, WI; grandson, Trevor. Step-daughter, Terry (Ben) Hagan, step-son, Mark (Kathleen) Morris, step-grandsons, Greg and Matt Morris, and step-great-grandchildren, Brenden, Jack, Holland, Noah and Andrew Morris. Brothers, Harvey, Tampa Bay FL and Robert (Joan), Denmark, WI. and numerous nieces and nephews. Also very special friend, Ann Morris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte (Morris) Schmidt, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
A visitation will be Wednesday September 8, 2010 from 11 AM to 12 (Noon) at the Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary followed by a Funeral Service at Noon. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. Condolences may be offered at www.feeneyhornakshadeland.com.
