Michael "Mike" John Delehanty, Indianapolis, age 61, passed away on Tuesday January 15, 2019. Mike was born March 1, 1957 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Leonard and Meryl Delehanty. He was a graduate of Bishop Chatard High School ('75), Indiana University ('79), Loyola Law School Los Angeles ('82), and obtained another Master's Degree later in life at Indiana University. He is a retired attorney with State Farm Insurance and taught history at St. Bartholomew in Columbus, Indiana. Mike was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and the Indiana Bar Association. He had a compassion for caring that he exhibited in his care for his wife, Melody and his mother, Meryl as well as the way he would always provide guidance and advice to anyone who asked. Mike also enjoyed motorcycle riding in his free time along with being a voracious reader and acquirer of knowledge.
Mike is survived by his wife, Ann Howard; daughter, Caitlan C. Delehanty (Brian Tyree); mother, Meryl Delehanty; brothers, Timothy Delehanty (Kim) and Patrick Delehanty (Ann); and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his first wife, Melody Ann Delehanty; father, Leonard Delehanty; and brother, Kevin Delehanty.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at St Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Dr, Indianapolis, Indiana. His Mass of Christian Burial will occur Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the church with burial to follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mike's memory may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3500 Depauw Blvd, Indianapolis, Indiana.
