

Michael Thomas Lazorchak, Sr., age 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Michael was born on Long Island, New York, NY to Peter Lazorchak and Erika Lazorchak (Helmers). He grew up in Middletown, New Jersey with his brother, Peter Lazorchak, and sister, Erika Lazorchak, and had a half-brother, Edward Oberman, whom he loved dearly. After graduating high school, he joined the US Army and served two combat tours in Vietnam, 1968-1969, as a LRRP attached to the Americal Division after graduating MACV Recondo School while overseas. He earned the rank of E-5 Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star with V Device for gallantry in combat as well as the Army Commendation Medal. After discharge from the Army, he attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and earned a degree in Anthropology, where during his course of study his first son, Zachariah Lazorchak, was born in 1977. He then went on to study Chiropractic Medicine at Logan University in St. Louis Missouri, earning his doctorate in 1983. He subsequently practiced Medicine in Lafayette, Indiana, Evansville, Indiana, and Indianapolis, Indiana. He spent the remainder of his life in Indianapolis where his sons, Michael and Nathaniel, and daughter, Adrianna, were born in 1990, 2000, and 2003 respectively.
He was a lifelong learner, and his hobbies included collecting and restoring vintage electronics, lamps, stoves, clocks, and watches with a focus on and love of antique radios. He was also a licensed General class HAM radio operator. He loved animals and spent his retirement years with his Boxers Schmutz and Anya.
He is survived by his sons Michael and Nathaniel Lazorchak, daughter Adrianna Lazorchak, his granddaughters, Cecilia Keiper and Sophia Lazorchak, wife Margaret Lazorchak (Sabol) and sister Erica Nemeth (Lazorchak).
