Clyde Lawrence "The Colonel" McPhail 78 of Indianapolis passed away October 6, 2009. Clyde was born in Hattiesburg, MS on December 21, 1930, the son of the late James and Iola H. McPhail. He was a retired Radiologist at U.S. Army. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam Wars. He was a POW of the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. Clyde is survived by his wife of 54 years Earlene Estelle McPhail, two daughters, Erika L. McPhail and Claudia D. McPhail. Two sisters, Bettye J. McPhail and Hazel Benson, and three brothers, James McPhail, Jr., Curtis McPhail, and Howard McPhail also survive him. Funeral Services will be in Crown Hill Funeral Home, Indianapolis, IN, at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2009 where friends may call from 11:00 am -1:00 pm.
