I only met David a couple times but he made a wonderful impression in the little time I spoke with him. IMPD has definitely lost one of it's finest. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As stated by his father, he lived the "life of a warrior". His family, as well as all his brothers and sisters of IMPD are in my thoughts. The greatest of respect for David and all public servents. I think David was the true definition of what a Hero is. He got to do what he loved, protected others every day, gave the ultimate sacriface in doing so, and is respected by all. May he continue to watch over and protect you.

Although our heart grieves the loss of your life it also celebrates the short time you were here with us. You have inspired many people to be better through your example. I met David when he responded to a 1050PD which involved my neice's boyfriend in 2010.  We talked a little and I got to know him for his professionalism.  He was one of those guys you knew that was there doing what he loved and enjoyed doing his work while serving others - enforcing America's laws and protecting America's citizens.  It's this kind of dedication, and commitment, with cherished memories I'll remember he lived John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends - and he shown his concerns for humanity from the many observations I've known.

My prayer is that this poem God gave me will comfort you. It is: WELCOME HOME MY HERO - From the time I was conceived God had for me a plan. He wanted me to get involved to help my fellow man. I know some were against it but God knows what is best. Since the day He took me home I've had perfect rest. Heaven is so beautiful I'm walking streets of gold; now I'm serving others including saints of old. It really was amazing when I walked through the gate I saw the beauty of this place and I could hardly wait. To come into the presence of the Father and the Son. Hearing Him say to me the priceless words WELL DONE! As difficult as it may be please don't hold a grudge. Remember this my loved ones God alone will judge. Then on that resurection day when all the dead will rise the Lord will reunite us together in the skies. I'm having the best time up here so don't be sad and blue. I'm looking forward to the day when I can usher you into this very special place where God is on His throne. And we will have the honor to worship Him alone.

My heart goes out to you and your family.  As parents we are not supposed to bury our children, however God sometimes has other plans for them.  I praise your decision to donate to allow a part of your son to continue to live on in others, to allow him to continue to be a hero and save lifes as he took the oath to do. As parents of an officer that died last week, my heart is so heavy for you.  No matter what a great officer your son was, it dosen't take away the pain.  So sorry for your loss.

David, May God Bless you my friend. When I was a Captain on MCSD I knew of your parents and know you were of the same cloth of integrity and professionalism as they. You have been taken by reasons unknown to us but reasons you are now surely fully aware of. Although you were VERY needed here in your capacity, you were needed MORE by God. May God Bless and Keep you and place you in high standing in His Kingdom. May He also wrap His hands around your parents and those left behind who loved you dearly. You will NEVER be forgotten. My deepest sympathy.  David and I share the same birthday (10/15).  I heard on the news tonight that David's badge number is 1434.  The love of my life and I had a code we used to send to our pagers.  143 was "I Love You".  1434 was the reply of "I Love You More".  

May you rest in peace now our fallen silent hero! Gob bless the Moore family and friends! THANK YOU FOR PROTECTING US FROM HARM YOU TRULLY ARE GIFTS FROM GOD!!! We are praying for you in these times of need and may you always have the community to fall back on!

Dear Family,

I wish to express my sympathy regarding your loss of David. The Bible encourages us to comfort others.(2 Corinthians 1:3,4) It also assures us that one day there will be no wickedness on the earth; only peace.(Psalms 37:10,11)  Jesus Christ  brought great joy to families by bringing back to life their loved ones who had died.(John 11:25)  He states at John 5:28,29 that there will be a resurrection of those asleep in the grave. His loving heavenly Father, Jehovah  promises that He will end death, pain, tears and mourning.(Revelation 21:3,4) I hope that this condolence will help you have a measure of comfort and hope during this difficult time. God cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)  

Carol, Jo, and Spencer-  Throughout this entire happening, I have watched your walk with God mature.  It may not seem like it to you, but from somone who has worked with Carol for 6 years and who has come upon talking with the both of you a few times here and there, I can see the hurt you are feeling.  But it is also very obvious that God is present, and that you are growing in your relationships with Him.  David was a special person, and he was nice to hang out with.  Make it a point to celebrate his life every year as a way to keep family close and to remember your favorite memories about him.  You are so blessed to have had such an amazing brother and son.  I am here and happy to do anything that can be needed Carol.  I'm a phone call away, or just a couple schools away.  I love you!

To the Moore Family, I want extend my deepest condolances for your loss.  I went to high school with David and my brother graduated with him.  I may not have stayed in touch since, but I can remember him fondly from high school.  He always wore his smile.  He would walk into a room and light it up just smiling and saying hi to everyone.  I can also remember him always having friends of all cliche's at school - he never discriminated and I admired that the most. 

My brother remembers having classes with David.  He said that David would always make them more fun with this light hearted humor.   

He was one of those great men in life....I am so very glad that I got to have him in my life, even if it was a small part. 

Jo and Spencer:  MaryAnn and I want to convey our deepest sympathy to the both of you.  We are amazed at your strength and love of our community to share your son in such an emotional time. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April of 2008. Even though I was in treatment I still worked, missing only 3 days for suergery. One evening my new Jeep Grand Cherokee experienced a flat tire. I was in the Broadripple area of Indianapolis. I could have changed the tire myself under "healthier" circumstances. But God sent me an angel in the form of a police officer. Your son was that angel..I've never forgotten that night and his genuine concern for me. He even called me a few weeks later to see how I was doing. To the Moore Family:Your son was one of the kindest people i have ever had the honor to me in my 62 yrs here on earth.I had car trouble a while back and this IMPD officer stopped to see if I was in need of help.I told him "No" You have better things  to do then  stop and help me.Get out there and do what you get paid for"..David said "ok if you dont need help" I said thats fine ,I will get it going .He walked away and stopped and looked back with that half grin he had and said"your sure?" I smailed back and said yes I am sure.We talked for a few and  in just that few min. I knew he was a proud owner of that uniform he had on. I huurt as others  and I am so very sorry that he did not get to do everything he wanted to do in life. Now Others will live on because of his passing and he will be remembered  always as the Man who gave his all in moore  ways then one. May you always be proud of the son you had in life as well as the son you now have in gods arms. My loving thoughts go out to you all. God Speed David S. Moore.. I will never forget the day we met.

Mr. & Mrs Moore...I don't know you or your family personally but your son's death has impacted my heart in a profound way.  I read the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi every day and the day I watched the celebration of your son's life on TV and read that prayer I knew why God had placed him in the lives of so many people. What a blessing that you two were the instruments that God choose to guide him to become the "Warrior" he was.  Our city is better because your son was sent to bring a divided community together.  May God continue to give you and your family His grace , love and mercy.  We are all eternally grateful for David.
