

Theodore Roosevelt Young was born to Frank and Alma (Woods) Young, November 5, 1919 in Indianapolis, IN. His younger sister, Thelma preceded him in death. He was nurtured and raised by his caring paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Tyler.
While attending Crispus Attucks High School he met and fell in love with Helen Adelaide Howard. They were united in marriage on October 9, 1939. During their 60 year union they were blessed with ten children: Charlotte M. Huff (widowed), Carol T. Rowley (Orville), Freeman S. Young, Gwendolyn G. Moore, Marlene M. Magers (Tom)
Austin R. Young, Roger E. Young, Western F. Young (Joanne), Howard N. Young (Sharon) Rahn-Ellis Young and 49 grandchildren. Although Helen slipped into eternity on January 12, 2000; both lived to see and enjoy their descendents well into the fifth generation.
During WWII, Theodore gratefully served his country in the United States Navy achieving the rank of Seaman 2nd Class. .
He retired from International Harvester (now Navistar) in 1974 after 30 years
of employment. Theodore was a member of UAW Local #98
Theodore was raised in the Christian church, however, prayed to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in later years. He truly had a heart of love for his family and often served others who were in need of assistance.
On Tuesday, August 17, 2010 Theodore passed from this life into glorious eternal life; he is greatly missed by family and friends.
