

88, Indianapolis, beloved wife of Harry Norman Bryan, passed away April 13th after a brave battle against Parkinson's Disease. She was born to Earl and Sylvia Swinford on March 8, 1924, at their home on Michigan Road in Indianapolis. She attended Crooked Creek Elementary School and graduated from Shortridge High School. She entered Butler University at the age of sixteen, became a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and earned an A.B. and eventually an M.A. in English.
Jenny taught thirty-six years in Washington Township at Crooked Creek, Fall Creek, and Westlane. She briefly taught Social Studies and Home Economics, but her primary discipline was English. In addition to working as an English consultant for the school district, she served for many years as English department chair at Westlane.
Among Jenny's many interest and activities were gardening, golf, fishing, bridge, reading, word puzzles, antiquing and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bill Swinford. Survivors include her husband, Harry Bryan; daughter, Sylvia Pauckner (Ed); granddaughters, Jenny and Caitlin Pauckner; nieces, Sally Hruban (Tom) and Cindy Grimaldi; nephew, Scott Swinford (Shelli Westrick); great-nieces, Laura and Heather Beeson and Shelby Grimaldi; great-nephew, Brandon Madden; Austin Hruban, Alex and Lindsay Westrick.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of St. Vincent Hospital and St. Vincent Hospice for their expert and compassionate care.
