

Mrs. Gwendolyn Shores Johnson, the daughter of Earl and Alice Jones Shores, one of thirteen. She was born on December 19, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Gwen, as she was known, was loved by all who knew her. She received her education from the Indianapolis Public School System and graduated from Shortridge High School. Gwen was united in Holy Matrimony with Eddie Johnson Sr. on October 12th, 1963. She was a loving caring mother to her only son, Eddie Johnson Jr. Gwen worked for Lane Bryant company for over 43 years. she thoroughly loved her job. She was a dedicated worker who retired as a Customer Service Supervisor in 1999. Besides her love for her son, she loved playing Bingo and was a "Numbers Queen" when it came to the lottery. If the Pacers or Colts were not playing, you could bet your last dollar Gwen was either doing 4 things- watching the Game Show Network, watching re-runs of her "Stories:- especially "The Young & the Restless", "working" her crossword puzzles or scratching a Lottery Ticket while drinking a Diet Pepsi. Gwen was known for her Sunday home cooked meals. Anyone could stop by and get one of her favorite dishes that stayed on a rotation of- Cube Steak, Fried Chicken, Pork Chops, and Meat Loaf. Gwen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents- Earl and Alice Shores; brothers- Earl (Donald), William, Ralph, Stephen and Larry Shores; sisters- Joanne Elliott, Carol Jean Lindsay, Judith Betty Jackson and Sandra Kay Cooper. Gwen leaves to cherish in her loving memory: Sister- Joyce Sanders (Joseph Sander Sr.); Brothers- Anthony Shores and Mike Shores; Son Eddie Johnson Jr. (Kelly Hill; Grandchildren- Chloe Greenwell (Joseph) and Chelsea Johnson; Great-Grand Children- Aniyah Pogue, Carter, Cooper & Camrie Greenwell; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends
