

Sunrise- October 1, 1947 Sunset- February 13, 2016 Mrs. Betty Jane Myers was born October 1, 1947 to Pauline Betty Jane Beach Somerville in Indianapolis Indiana. Betty was a product of the Indianapolis Public school systems and a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in the spring of 1965. While a student of Arsenal Tech Betty participated on the speech team. Betty was full of life and always upbeat, she loved bright colors fancy outfits which she loved to shop for and she absolutely loved to dance the night away. Betty met and married Lewis Myers Jr in 1966 and this union bore two children Ronda Kay and Lewis Johnson Myers aka “JJ”. Betty worked for the RCA Corporation and later enlisted in the United States Army. Betty was severely injured in a jeep accident while serving in the Army and this left her with many injuries and permanently disabled. The subsequent injuries led to her retirement from the Army. Betty battled her injuries the way she lived life “head on” with no excuses. The accident took many things from her but it did not take her funny sense of humor. Betty departed this life on Saturday February 13, 2016 peacefully at her home at the age of 68 years young. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter and caretaker Ronda Kay Mack, Three sisters Tommie Jones, Margaret Newman and Jacqueline Patton (Larry). Betty also leaves her loving grandchildren Amber and Nelson Mack, many nieces and nephews. Her son Lewis preceded her in death.
