Mrs. Marie E. Nance

Marie Elizabeth Nance went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 94 on the morning of January 17, 2016, For the last eleven years preceding her death, Marie greeted all her caretakers with a smile and an “I love you!” at the Masonic Home located in Franklin, IN. She was born August 6, 1921, to the late Cora and Leo Docktor in Indianapolis, IN. Marie was married fifty years, in 1990, to the late Marvin Keith Nance, Sr. The two of them were blessed with two sons, Marvin Keith Nance, Jr. and Michael Edward Nance, who passed in 2014 at the age of 68, leaving his wife, Becky Nance. Marie is survived by her son, Marv and his wife, Eydie, their two sons, Casey Nance, his wife Amy Nance, Timothy Nance and his sons, Dylan Nance and Matthew Nance. Marie’s youngest son, Mike and his wife Becky, have two daughters, Tina Nance Montgomery (Bill) their two sons, Tristan and Adrian Montgomery and Gina Nance Gzbovskis (Robert), their daughter Emma and son Samuel. Marie’s mother, Cora Docktor, joined Jesus Christ at the same age of 93, while she was also at the Masonic Home. While in good health, Marie enjoyed attending church with her husband at Tallwood Chapel, was a member of Eastern Star, playing Euchre, watching “All My Children” and the Indiana Pacers on TV, plus pro wrestling, camping, and traveling out west with her husband. In her youth, she loved the old River-Side Amusement Park and was an excellent roller skater at their skating rink.
