Mrs. Louise Noel

Louise Hanley Noel was born on October 19, 1917 in Indianapolis, Indiana and passed away peacefully in her home in Petoskey, Michigan on May 10, 2010. Louise graduated from Ladywood High School and attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and graduated from Georgian Court College (now University) in Princeton, New Jersey. Louise was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Louise married Harry Jerome Noel, Sr. on June 10, 1942. Louise and Jerry resided and raised their six children in Indianapolis and began spending summers at the Hanley family cottage on Walloon Lake in 1951. After Jerry's death in 1986, Louise made Petoskey, Michigan her permanent residence in 1997. She was a Life Member of the Walloon Lake Association.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband H. Jerome Noel, Sr., her sister Jean Hanley Smith Sager, her brother Robert E. Hanley and her parents Irma and William A Hanley, Sr.

Louise is survived by her brother William A Hanley, Jr. (Cotton) and her six children; Louise Noel Malachowski (Robert), Nancy A Noe" H. Jerome Noel, Jr. (Michele), Irma Noel Rand (James), William Hanley Noel (Jane) and Carol Noel Davis (Lance). Louise is also survived by her 2 Granddaughters and 19 Grandsons, 5 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

The family would like to express its gratitude and appreciation for the devoted care given by Kim Hazel, Wilma Ness, Deb Meads and Kim Brooks since 2005 and the many years of friendship of Linda Juday. The family would also like to thank those healthcare providers within our community that came to visit Mom and provide healthcare for her in her home. A private family service will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to North Central Michigan College Foundation, 1515 Howard Street, Petoskey, Michigan 49770 or the Walloon Lake Association, Petoskey, Michigan.
