
Kate was an aunt to everyone and all her family would come to her for advice. Her opinion was one that all desired to hear. Her talents were many. Her wit and wonderful skill to communicate with everyone was phenomenal. A kind word and numerous loving deeds of kindness to others was a natural part of her life. She was an interior decorator and fashion designer for all her family. She kept up with all the latest styles and would let you know if you were not up to par.
At an early age, Kate accepted Christ and joined her mother and sisters to be baptized at the University Avenue Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Kate married Charles Henry Reeder June 2, 1979, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She then became a member of the Eastside Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
On August 12, 2012 Kate went to sleep to await the return of her loving Savior and Redeemer. Preceding her in death were her sisters Lula Brown, Priscilla Steele, Nellie Hardin and Ruth Willis.
Kate will always be loved and cherished by her family and friends. She leaves behind devoted husband Charles H. Reeder; adopted daughter Suzy J. Richards; nieces Daisy S. Matthews, Mary Nell M. Folsom, Hetha H.Dixon (William), Jan H. Roddy (Leon), and Joy H. Brown (James); nephews James E.Steele, Robert S. Hannum, Jr.(Mildred), Stanford W.Hannum (Nellie), Charles Willis(Ruth);brother-in-law Robert Reeder; stepdaugthers Betty Chaney (James), Paulette Reeder, Donna Reeder; dear friend Carol McConnell Roth; loving friends Roy Ballinger and Shirley Wimsatt ; a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces, great grand nephews and friends. With profound appreciation to Chris Davis and Lisa Hoffman for many years of assistance in her health care.
