Mrs. Shirley Patricia McClain

Shirley Patricia Roberson McClain was born May 20, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee to Oscar Roberson and Dollie Napier Roberson. She was the fourth of five children.Shirley attended elementary school in Nashville and attended Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. As a young woman, Shirley was employed at Bar B-Q Heaven for several years and later established a career with the United States Postal Service in the cafeteria. Shirley loved music and she especially enjoyed listening to gospel music. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.Shirley departed this life on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Dollie Roberson; three sons, Michael Roberson, Tony McClain and James McClain and one brother, Donald Roberson.Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Donald Roberson (Ann), Charles Curtis Stanton; two daughters, Monica McClain and Cheryl Stanton; one sister, Louise Avant of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two brothers, James Robertson of Indianapolis and Richard Roberson of Los Angeles, California; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The visitation is Saturday, November 18, 2017, 9am - 11am, with the service at 11am in Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home, Peoples Chapel. The burial is in New Crown Cemetery.
