

,Lymphoma. A lifelong Indianapolis resident, she was born on August 7, 1932, the fourth of five daughters and one son of Francis and Odessa Jordan. Throughout her life she was always close to her siblings, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her brother Pat Jordan, and sister Sally Shaner predeceased her.
Ellen attended Shortridge High School before graduating from St. Mary's Academy in 1950. Shortly thereafter she married Charles R. Glesing in 1951 while he was stationed with the u.S. Air Force in California. Together, they were blessed with six children, five of whom survive.
Her early years were devoted to being the consummate Mom, raising two sons, and four daughters. Later, she was Patient Charge Coordinator at St.Vincent's Hospital for ten years, retiring in 1989. An active member at Grace Church, Noblesville, her great joy was being a part of many Bible study groups.
Ellen is survived by her children, Frances Marie Pasalich (Dr. John) of Fort Wayne, Suzanne Chaffee (Dr. Kenneth) of Hamilton Lake, Charles Richard Glesing, Jr. (Michelle) of Carmel, Juliana Cain (David) of Flower Mound, Texas, and Sarah Jordan Jenkins (Dr. Brian) of Fort Wayne, sisters, MaryLou Jones of Panama City Beach, Florida, Jean Ward of Decatur, Georgia and Joan Parker of Macclenny, Florida. She has also been blessed with 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Her son, Stephen Andrew Glesing predeceased her in 1978.
Ellen is also survived by her husband of 21 yrs., Douglass R. Shortridge.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on September 4, 2010, in the Gothic Chapel in
Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. Friends may gather one hour prior to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814
Following the services Ellen will be buried at Crown Hill Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life to honor and remember Ellen for family and her many friends immediately following the services. Information will be provided at the time of the service.
