Mary Janet Fletcher 90, Indianapolis, passed away April 13, 2009. She was born November 24, 1918 in Gary, IN to L. Guy and Mary E. (Melendy) Van de Bogart. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Warren and Leonard. She is survived by her four children, Jean T. Maijala (Thomas) of Eau Claire, WI, Ann M. Olejko (Terry) of Powell, OH, Dr. Mark V. Fletcher (Amy) of Zionsville and Mary Ellen Mathis (Joseph) of Austin, TX; her ten grandchildren, David, Karen and Steven Maijala, Daniel Olejko, Beth (Olejko) Helle, Emily, Sarah and Benjamin Fletcher and Melendy and Alex Mathis. She was a graduate of Northwestern University (B.S. 1946), a 48 year member of First Congregational Church, a founding member of the Indianapolis Zoo Guild and beloved mother, grandmother and friend. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18 in Marquette Manor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Zoo.
