

Sylvia Darlene Leggett, 46, Indianapolis, beloved daughter of Earline B. Leggett and the late Jazz Legend and Music Educator, Laurence L. "Larry" Leggett, Sr., passed away on May 31, 2010. Born in Indianapolis, she was a graduate of Park Tudor School and an alumnus of DePauw University and IUPUI. Sylvia was employed in Marketing and Retail Management until her health declined. She was a gifted writer and poet, and loved animals. A Liturgical Mass will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at 1 p.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church, with a celebration of her life to follow. Sylvia is survived by her mother, Earline B. Leggett; her brothers, Laurence L. Leggett, Jr., Gregory E. Leggett (Leticia), and David L. Staten (Keisha); her sisters, Valerie J. Davidson, and Christy L. Davis (Norris); her nephews, Jason L. Davidson, Christopher N. Davis, Anthony G. Davis, David L. Staten, Jr., Tarrin Staten, Ma'Lik Graham, and Ma'Kyi Staten; her nieces, Lydia M. Leggett, Jacqueline L. Leggett, and Tyra Staten; her great-niece, Carmela J. Leggett; her many special friends, and her adored family pets, Mugsy, Buster, and Buddy Leggett, and Simba Davidson. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Indianapolis Humane Society, or the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home.
