Myrna Ann Blackwood, age 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Myrna was born October 17, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lillian (Rohrman) Meyer and Thurman Meyer. Myrna was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen Blackwood; sister, Janet Austin; and nephew, Keith O'Brien.
Myrna is survived by her sister; Elaine Harbison; nieces and nephews, Jeanie Andes, Amy Brown, Julie Wiggins, and Curt O'Brien; great nieces, Katlyn Piccolo and Samantha Brown; and her beloved congregation.
Myrna was a member of Ahavat Yeshua Messianic Jewish Congregation and loved to share her faith and the good news of Yeshua. She regularly attended Bible and Torah Studies, and AY Sisterhood gatherings, and enjoyed movies. Myrna worked at IU Medical Center in the records department with her Associates Degree she earned at Phoenix College but her true passion was art. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School and earned a scholarship to John Herron Art School. Myrna enjoyed travel with her husband, Allen and playing with their Alaskan Malamute, Piper. She always kept in touch via email and spoke with her sister daily. Myrna also had a competitive side, even when it came to games with her niece when she was a child. Her family and congregation will miss her dearly but are comforted that she is in Heaven, likely sharing a cherry cordial ice cream with Yeshua.
