

Maxine Scott, 87 of Yuma, AZ, died on June 18, 2012. She was a beloved and devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and caring sister. She lived life with charm and grace. Her family and friends were so very important to her. She was a beautiful woman with a kind and gentle soul. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Maxine was born on May 24, 1925 in Franklin, Kentucky, the oldest daughter of the late Henry and Ada McGee. Maxine moved to Indianapolis and married the love of her life Adrian J. Scott. A few years after Adrian’s death in 1964, she moved to Yuma AZ. She worked as a secretary for a moving company for many years until her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling. She was happiest when she was with her family and friends.
Maxine is survived by her son Jeffery L. (Melba) Scott of Yuma, AZ and two grandchildren Melissa Black and Ty Scott. She is also survived by her dearly loved sisters Cora Johnson, Lenoir NC, Becky (Bud) Fain, Southside, TN and Billie (John) Gilligan, Indianapolis, IN. She was the much loved aunt to many nieces and nephews and the great-grandmother of 4. She was preceded in death by her husband Adrian J. Scott and her siblings Charlie, Lila and Jo.
Maxine will be interred at Washington Park East Cemetery next to her husband. A funeral service celebrating Maxine’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary.
