

Norma was born in Loogootee, Indiana to Louis and Laverne Gibson on August 22, 1933. She graduated from Loogootee High School in 1951. She married Robert Cochran on November 7, 1953. While Norma had several jobs throughout her working career, she retired from Dow Chemical Company as an Administrative Assistant after 23 years. However, Norma’s most enjoyable job was looking after her grandchildren.
Norma’s favorite thing to do was spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to the casinos, playing games and cards. She loved watching sports as her favorite teams were Purdue football and basketball, the Colts, Indiana Fever and the Indy 500.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, brother Louis Jr., his wife Annabelle, brother Woodie, sister Sharon Garrett and her husband Larry, sister-in-law Judy Gibson. Also, niece Sherry Lee Gibson.
Norma will be missed by her loving children, Barb (Bill) Schaffer, Randy (Susan) Cochran, Rene (Paul) Johnson, Steve (Diana) Cochran, TJ (Cheryl) Cochran, Shelle (John) Gerhart and Rob Cochran, and brother Edward Gibson. Also, surviving are her fourteen grandchildren, Travis (Catherine), Tyler (Jenny), Trent (Maddie), Nick (Courtney), Matt, Courtney (Kevin), Christopher, Samuel, Taylor, Morgan, Hannah, Brooke, Kelsey and Trey; two step-grandchildren, JB and Chris. Norma has 14 great-grandchildren as well as 4 step-great grandchildren.
Private Funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Crown Hill Funeral Home
Memorials may be given to The American Heart Association.
