

Mrs. Norma Mae Patterson, so affectionately called “Maa” was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 19, 1919 to the proud parents of Thomas Franklin Sr., and Lathaza Quinn. Norma was one of 9 children.
Norma was united in Holy matrimony to Roger Alexander Pat-terson Sr., affectionately called “Dipps” and enjoyed marital bliss for 84 years, to this union a blessing of 9 children were born; Mary, Joyce, Beverly, Candy, Susie, Roger Jr., Norman, Paul and Mark.
Norma was a beloved wife and mother who devoted her life to her husband and children. As her family grew, she devoted herself to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Maa was an awesome caregiver, who helped guide and raised so many! She exuded love, wisdom and patience to all she met, although feisty and petite she was stern and was a God fearing woman who stayed prayed up.
Norma was an cancer survivor, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, music, dancing, mystery shows and watching her family “line dance”.
Maa had a one of kind smile and laughter that was so soothing and calming. When she held any and all babies she would always hum a song while rocking them to sleep.
Norma Mae Patterson was an awesome cook, she cooked every holiday, birthday and especially Sunday after church. Maa enjoyed taking care of her people and family and everyone knew you better finish your plate of food!
Norma always welcomed you with open arms, she simply loved to talk and getting to know people personally. We were are all blessed to have Norma “Maa” for 102 years, there is nobody like Lady Norma Mae Patterson!! She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Grace, Betty, Doris, Thomas Jr., Roger, Paul, Ronald and Gary Franklin.
Maa leaves to cherish her memories forever daughters; Beverly (Charles) Jackson, Rita “Susie” Patterson, sons; Roger A. (Josephine) Patterson Jr., Mark A. (Paula) Patterson, grandchildren; Robert, Brenda “Girly” Patterson, Clinton Jackson Sr., Anthony Harrison Jr., Norman Patterson Jr., Tawanna Lee, Travis McKinney, Chris Patterson, Monica Patterson, Shanise Patterson, Shawn Patterson, Charles Jackson Jr., Mark Patterson Jr., Kylee Patterson, Ryan Taylor, Jessica Patterson, Sophia Patterson, siblings; Shoranda Gary, Ronald Franklin, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, loves ones and friends.
