Norma Jean Porter

Norma Jean Porter, age 94, of Plainfield, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born January 26, 1927 in Eminence, Indiana the daughter of the late Joseph and Opal Whisenand. She worked for Grain Dealers Mutual Insurance Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1991.

Norma was a faithful member of the Westside Church of the Nazarene and Hendricks County Extension Homemakers.

Norma is survived by her children: Howard (Reva) Porter, Jr., Sandra (Lawrence) Jinkins, Larry (Darlene) Porter, Carol (Pete) McAllister and Kenneth (Kim McGlaughlin) Porter, step-sisters: Wilma Steffey and Betty Jean Larimore, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Whisenand and Opal (Ben) Patterson, husband: Howard R. Porter, Sr., step-sister: Helen Stricker, a granddaughter: April Noel Tedder and companion: John Webb.

Funeral services for Norma will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Family Funeral Care, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
