Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy for nearly 23 years, embodying the dedication and discipline that would define him throughout his life. After his honorable service, he continued his commitment to his community through a decade of service with the United States Postal Service, where he brought that same sense of reliability and care to every route and every door.
Those who knew Paul knew one simple truth: he never said no. Whether a neighbor needed a hand, a friend needed a favor, or a stranger needed a kind word, Paul showed up — quietly, without hesitation, and without expectation of anything in return. That generosity of spirit was perhaps his greatest gift to the world.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Vickie, whose partnership was the cornerstone of his life; his three children, Angie, Karen and her husband Larry, and Sean; his brothers, Norman (Sherrie) and Bruce; and a cherished circle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward for generations to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Elizabeth (Smith) Cheesman, and his sister, Hila Cheesman.
Paul Edward Cheesman was a man who served his country, served his community, and served his family — always with grace, and always without complaint. He will be deeply and endlessly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Paul's memory.
