Peggy Plott Kaforke

88, of Indianapolis, died October 18, 2016. She was born March 17, 1928 in Covington Virginia to Harry and Alva Bowen Plott. She joined the US Army Cadet Nursing Corp in 1945 and graduated a register nurse in 1948. After the army she worked at Stewart Circle Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. On September 10, 1949 she married the love of her life Vaughn Kaforke; they were married for 60 years until his death in 2009. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. She is survived by her sons Steven (Barbara) Kaforke and Timothy (Connie) Kaforke; daughters Judy (Russell) Zimmerman and Betsy (Fred) Shackelford; grandchildren Ashlee (Andrew) Kaforke Morris, Michael Kaforke, Brittney and Christopher Zimmerman and Matthew Shackelford; step-grandchildren Brian and Nicholas Shackelford and great-grandchildren, Madelein Shackelford and Gavinn and Liam Locke and Drew Morris. Visitation will be Friday October 21 from 4 – 7 PM at Feeney-Honrak Keystone Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday October 22 at King of Glory Lutheran Church (106th Street and Keystone) beginning at 10 AM followed by the funeral services at 11 AM Interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Garden.
