Peggy "Anita" Schweitzer

Peggy "Anita" Schweitzer, age 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Anita was born November 25, 1947 in Elkhart, Illinois to the late Ruth Eileen and Dr. Paul W.J. Tillman. Anita graduated from Dixon High School. After high school, she went to Loyola University in Illinois and then received her nursing degree from Purdue University.

Anita was a nurse for over 35 years, working for 32 years at Methodist Hospital. She was a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Anita was a free spirit who enjoyed making jewelry, painting, drawing and sewing. She loved belly dancing and taught her daughters how to belly dance as well. Anita was a huge animal lover. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Anita is survived by two daughters, Andrea Guffey and her husband, Shane Guffey, MD and their children, Jaxson Grady Guffey and Isabella Shane Guffey; daughter, Nicole Deal and her husband Jimmy Deal and their children, Savannah Skye Cummins, Jordan Sierra Guffey, Bryan Deal, James Deal III and Christopher Deal; and great grandchildren, Nicco Sebastian Cummins, Lillian Ruth McGill, Sophia Deal, Harrison McGill and Nora Deal.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Sharon Smith.

A memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Parish, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46240. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 AM.
