

Phyllis was born in Indianapolis to Charles and Hazel on December 20, 1937. She went to school a Grammar School #26 and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She worked as a secretary/administrative assistant for Youth Fair Chance until she retired due to illness.
At an early age, Phyllis professed her belief in Christ and joined Greater St. Mark Baptist Church. At the time of her death she was a member of Good Shepherd M.B.C. During her membership she was an active member of several organizations, including being a Sunday school teacher.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her father Charles, mother Hazel, step-mother Betty, brother Billy and daughter Cheryl.
Phyllis is survived by daughters- Donita Brown, Karen Walker, and Hazel Parks, God-daughter Vicki Brown, son David Brown, sisters- Beverly McClasky, Linda Alexander, Yvonne Mintze, Evelyn Anthony, brothers- Charles Anthony, Mark Anthony, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation for Phyllis will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church, 3650 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46222, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
