Raymond Eugene Okerson

Raymond Eugene Okerson, age 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. Raymond was born to Armon Cecil and Mary Helen (King) Okerson on December 8, 1928, and raised in Joplin, Missouri.

Raymond is survived by his son Joe (wife Patti), daughter Theresa (husband Charles) Hadley, Dave (wife Anne), Tom (wife Maureen), Paul, Jim (wife Maureen), Kevin (wife Karen), and John . Raymond had 18 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Kathleen Okerson.

Raymond retired as a Stores Foreman at Allison Transmission and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus on N. Post Rd. and past Grand Knight. He was a member of St. Philip Neri and Holy Spirit parishes.

A visitation for Raymond will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, March 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219.

Raymond will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, 435 W. Troy Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46225.
