Becky attended Indianapolis Public Schools, graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.
Amongst her employment endeavors, she loved the child care profession passionately. Many children called her “Aunt Becky”.
Becky, having confessed Christ as her Savior early on, and attended other churches, she rededicated her life to Christ under the leadership of Pastor Corey Duncan, The City of Hope Church. She truly loved her God.
She has preceded in her passing: Father Harold Simmons and brother Harold DeWayne Simmons. Survived by children Eric Buchanan, Ebony Smith, and Richard Downing. The apple of her eye, her three beloved grandchildren; Joshua Buchanan, Aaron Smith III and Jeremiah Smith; Mother: Maryetta Simmons; Brothers: Joseph and Eric Simmons; Uncle’s Felix Lasley Sr. and Robert D. Patton, and a host of loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and cherished friends.
Becky was a fun, spirited person. She loved bowling, traveling, dancing, and playing cards with her brother Eric, whom she beat often.
