Rita Rosalie (Elefante) Motto, 97, passed away February 3, 2018. She was born August 4, 1920 in Utica, NY to the late Louis and Rose Elefante. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Guy Motto and son, Michael Motto. She married Guy Oct. 23, 1943 in Riverside, CA before he shipped out to the Pacific during WWII. She worked as a clerk at Elder Beerman stores and Central Soya Company and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral, FL where she lived many years in her retirement and of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN. She was a good artist that enjoyed oil and water paintings, even selling some, and knitting. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling, including Alaska, Nova Scotia, Jamaica, and Greece.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Motto of Tuscon, AZ; son, Steven “Steve” Motto of Indianapolis, IN; and many nieces.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46240. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 pm at the church with cremation and burial of her urn in New York with her family to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to: Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 7725 N College Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46240.
