She worked as an executive secretary at Indiana Bell to ensure that her offspring could attend and graduate from Christ the King Elementary School, Bishop Chatard High School, and college. Rita was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She served as a strong role model for service. She spent many hours volunteering at the school and parish. In her retirement she continued that legacy of service at Christ the King, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Augustine Home for the Aged. Both will be held in the chapel at St. Augustine Home for the Aged, Indianapolis, where Rita was a member of the Guild, a weekly volunteer, and more recently, a well-cared for resident. Burial will follow at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Aurora, Illinois. Rita’s family wishes to thank the Little Sisters of the Poor and the many compassionate staff members and volunteers who treated her with love and dignity during her final six years in-residence at St. Augustine. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Home for the Aged so that the Little Sisters may continue their mission of giving quality care to the aged.
