Rita Joan Zehnder

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She will be most remembered for her love of the outdoors. Rita loved flowers, so much so that she hardly had any grass in her yard to accommodate all of her plants. She loved feeding the birds that would come into her yard, her favorite being cardinals. She also loved to cook and enjoyed making meals for the family, especially for holidays.

Rita is survived by sons; Shawn Zehnder (Hollie) of Brownsburg, Indiana, Donald Craig of N. Highlands, California, and Gary Craig of Westfield, Indiana. She also leaves behind many grandchildren; Melissa Craig, Angelina Craig, Summer Craig, Cassidy Zehnder, Carlie Zehnder, Rafferty Craig, Grady Winstead, and Kristin Espinoza.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband Carl Zehnder, sons; Garland Craig and Mark Craig, siblings; Edith, John, Blanche, Wilma, Garland, and Bernard, and two grandchildren; Savannah Zehnder and Joshua Brosius.

A funeral service for Rita will be held Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E 71st St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220.
