Robert Earl Burtch

93, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 29, 2011. He was born February 7, 1918 in Paris Crossing, Indiana to Gurney and Lula (Ward) Burtch. He served in the Army as a Master Sergeant during WWII. He worked for Indiana Equipment Company for 35 years as a diesel mechanic, retiring in 1980. He attended Southport Heights Christian Church. Robert is survived by his son Noel (Rhonda) Burtch, sister Mary Elizabeth Self, grandchildren Ryan, Austin, Karissa and Danielle Burtch. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gladys Titus Burtch, daughter Millie Joyce Burtch (age 21), sisters Lois Smith, Agatha Carroll, brother Virgil Carroll. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5 from 4 – 8 pm at Southport Height Christian Church. 7154 McFarland Road, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11 am at Hopewell Baptist Church 2319 N. CR 850 W. Holton, Indiana with visitation an hour before services. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery, Holton, Indiana. Robert will be remembered as a loving father and Papaw. Memorials in Robert’s name may be made to Holton Cemetery Fund.
