Robert E. Highfield

Bob was born to Anna (Hawkins) and Edward Highfield on April 15, 1930 at St. Vincent Hospital. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1948 and received his BA from Indiana University in 1954. He married Carolyn Galle on August 6, 1954. From 1955 until 1957 Bob was a first lieutenant in the United States Army and a member of the faculty at the Artillery and Guided Missile School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington in 1960. He served on the board of editors for the Indiana Law Journal while in law school. Bob joined Barnes and Thornburg (formerly Barnes, Hickam, Pantzer and Boyd) in 1960 and became a partner in 1968. His professional memberships included the American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, and the American Bar Association Senior Lawyers Division.

Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn, his daughter Paige Silence (husband Jeff), son Tod Highfield (wife Kim) and grandsons Cort and Tyler Highfield.
